LaVeniche March Avenue is a Venice-themed canal-street commercial facility located across 26 waterfront commercial lots sized totally 33 thousand sq. m., along the 1.7 kilometer-long round-trip artificial watercourse created anew at Gimpo Han-River New Town. It was possible to prevent any reckless development in advance by winning the whole waterfront commercial lots in bulk, promoting the whole master plan in the early phase, firstly as a lotted-out commercial facility. Afterwards, systematic development is in progress by phases across 13 blocks divided. Between the elongated buildings are properly planned green spaces, with commercial spaces grouped by blocks. Some spaces were vacated in consideration of the flows between the waterfront and the city-behind-the-blocks. The walkway was designed in multiple levels with buildings and waterfront decks, while the terrace-typed commercial spaces were placed along the watercourse so as to produce interesting streetscape with rhythmical spatial layout. This is now called the Venice of Korea, which is settling as a themed attraction that forms the landmark commercial sphere of the Han-River New Town.
