Seoul National University Bundang Hospital is a project in which a healthy medical space is constructed by actively utilizing the magnificent natural environment. The obliquely shaped site, and the four-storey difference between the front and rear of the building, served as the project’s starting points. Meanwhile, the upper and lower wards are connected to the outside by the use of pilotis, creating space for a roof garden that provides a pleasant environment for patients. The hospital is also equipped with a double skin system in order to create a comfortable indoor environment, and the rear yard of the ward uses projected windows to induce natural ventilation, provide an ideal healing environment and contribute to the formation of a unique façade.
