Hwaseong Sports Complex is located in the central area of Hwaseong city where nature and the built environment meet, and was carried out under the objective of a healthy Hwaseong, lively Hwaseong. The main stadium and indoor gymnasium are integrated into one mass through a non-linear, curve-shaped awning that takes into account a pleasant outdoor spatial experience. In addition, 60% of the grandstand seating of the main stadium was concentrated towards the east-west axis, which have a higher level of customer preference. Such a displacement reflects Junglim’s way of implementing public space by promoting a creative and practical approach.
